Buying and Selling
Selling information
Each year, Newport Auctions offer over 10,000 vehicles from both trade suppliers and private sellers. We work to the highest standards and have a straight forward procedure for sellers to complete in order to achieve the best result for the sale of their vehicle:
What you'll need
- V5 (vehicle registration document/ log book);
- MOT certificate (if it has a current MOT);
- Tax disc (if the vehicle is taxed);
- The vehicle's mileage;
- Service history, old MOT's etc (if any).
- If car is not registered to you you will need photographic ID / proof of address
How we'll sell your car
- You can enter a vehicle for sale on any week day before 5pm;
- You can place a reserve price on your vehicle. Our highly experienced auction team will be happy to give you an accurate valuation of its worth;
- We'll take multiple photographs of your vehicle, enter its particulars onto our fully automated database system, and then upload its details on to our website where buyers can view it immediately;
- Offer your vehicle for sale in the next available auction;
- If the highest bid on your vehicle is more than the reserve price, we'll sell it outright for you. If it is slightly less, we’ll take a deposit from the highest bidder and call you to see if the bid is acceptable (this is called a provisional bid);
- All vehicles are sold as seen with no warranty given.
